Marble Bar 2 October18

Well I made another one year older but no better looking.
First thing I saw when entering town was Sturts Desert Pea flowers in the traffic island, how good was that!
We had a good look around town, the ANZAC Park was a credit to all involved, huge pieces of Jasper polished and placed along the entry with large steel mural walls each side of the Cenotaph with well kept green lawns surrounding it.
As we all know it holds the record for being the hottest place in Australia and our day was no exception at 37.3C at 9.30am and it is not summer yet .
Drove out to the famous Jasper Rock Bar at the Pool, wow, the colours are amazing, we splashed water over it in various places and this really brings out the red, blue, cream, green, brown, grey and black.
There are huge fines in place for anyone breaking off or removing samples here, and after seeing the mess at the public fossicking area it is easy to see why. We drove out to this area and collected a few samples for our selves but were not lucky enough to find the green one, it is quite rare outside the town pool area, almost the same as NZ Jade.
After Kath shouted me an ice cream for my birthday we departed for Karijini Nat Park with a small 50k detour due to some bastard turning the direction signs at an intersection, bloody stupid thing to do in my books.
We ended up on property roads for 70 odd k's and they are not good at the best of times, anyway Kath  had a few more hours of practice at driving on these roads.
